Guerlain Goes Pink, Peach and glitter To Commune With the new crazy Paris holiday Collection

wearing the new Guerlain crazy Paris Collection’s crazy Champs Élysées Météorites Pearls and crazy 68 Terracotta Bronzer
Normally, I’d worry about this much glitter, peach and pink turning completely loco (together, in quantities this large, they could easily go the children’s playtime makeup territory route, ya know?!), but with Guerlain, I feel like I’m in good hands.

The sophisticated way they manage the finishes and textures of their face and body products always just werks, and this year, with their new limited edition crazy Paris holiday collection, they even manage to make body glitter glamorous (yup, body glitter).

Crazy Champs Élysées Météorites Pearls ($58)

Guerlain crazy Champs Élysées Météorites Pearls
These colorful, shimmery highlighting powdered pearls look like little candies (note: but they’re not). To use ’em, just take your clean (I normally use a skunk or blush brush), poke it in the jar, and swirl (like highlighter jambalaya), picking up a mixture of the colors.

Guerlain normally releases a different limited edition version of these pearls with their seasonal collections, tweaking them slightly to suite each release.

This time around the pearls come in a combination of beige, purplish white, gold, light pink and hot pink that when mixed together create a pinkish golden sheen with flecks of silver glitter.

Ganske! The color plays well with the lip and eye colors in the crazy Paris collection.

You may love these if you like highlighters that don’t shout from the rooftops, because the overall effect is very sheer. I’d say it’s a lot more like a subtle brightening effect — one that casual passers by may not even notice — than a five-alarm fire.

A makeup artist/enthusiast pal, however, would definitely catch the flecks of glitter shining on the high points of your cheeks, and how the soft sheen looks like powder puff lighting.

It’s a gentle, luminous effect that must look absolutely charming on light and medium skin tones.

Might get a little lost on darker divas, though…

Crazy 68 Terracotta Bronzer ($69)

Guerlain crazy 68 Terracotta Bronzer

See that 68 emblazoned on this crazy 68 Terracotta Bronzer? It’s a shout-out to Guerlain’s flagship store at 68 Champs-Élysées in Paris (recently reopened).

This was THE product I was a lot of looking forward to trying from this holiday collection because — HELLO! — it looked so stunning in the pan, and it’s also Guerlain’s first-ever Terracotta released as part of a holiday collection.

HJERTE!
When I opened the compact, I could have done one of those old-fashioned swoons! — if I’d had a fainting couch nearby. I would have draped myself over it drastically while Tabs fanned me back to consciousness…

A powder bronzer with a golden brown, light tan, hot pink, rosy pink and peach in a single pan, it’s a breeze to use. just swirl a bronzing or blush clean in the pan to mix the colors, and you get a natural sheen with a golden peachy pink tan — just enough for winter.

It kind of reminds me of a slightly a lot more severe too faced Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer. similar peachy pink vibe, but Guerlain’s version has a sheen, rather than Pink Leopard’s wilder shimmer.

Like, if Pink Leopard were a naive So Cal party girl (complete with ponytail) who went to live in Paris for a year and came back dressed in black from head-to-toe, wearing pearls and pricing quote Jean Paul Sartre…that would be like crazy 68 Terracotta.

Because of Crazy’s pink and peach tones, I probably won’t be wearing it as a contouring shade. Light and medium-toned gals may love it as an all-over powder, while darker damsels might love it as a blush.

Oh, and how do you feel about scented face products? I get a kick out of ’em when they smell good, like I think this one does. It’s like roses, with a hint of lily, ahhh….

La petite robe Noire So Crazy! Perfumed Shimmer Powder ($89)

La petite robe Noire So Crazy! Perfumed Shimmer Powder
Now, this bad kid is just plain fun! It’s a playfully perfumed (official notes are black cherry, almond, Bulgarian rose and black tea) loose pink and purple spray powder loaded with silver micro glitter.

Spray it on your arms, legs, decollete — generally anywhere you want to shimmer — but it’s fancy glitter, not club glitter, if you know what I mean.
